Pampering Early Mental Health and Emotional Development

Life is full of challenges that elevate stress for us all.  Now more than ever, this is especially true for children and adolescents. Sometimes, these challenges are too much to handle alone and negatively impact self-confidence, relationships with family and loved ones, and academic success. Pamper Your Mind Family is a trusted local resource to help restore internal and external peace for your child.  Our licensed providers specialize in child and adolescent psychiatry using modalities including play therapy, art therapy, talk therapy, and medication management to improve overall mental and emotional health.

How We Work With Children & Adolescents

Improve Communication

Through a combination of active listening, empathy, and specialized techniques, our therapists will facilitate open and honest dialogue. By creating a safe and non-judgmental space, we encourage children & adolescents to express their thoughts, feelings, and concerns, leading to a deeper understanding of themselves and the source of their feelings and thoughts.

Resolve Conflict

Our therapists help children and adolescents navigate and resolve internal conflicts as well as conflicts with family members or adults. We assist in identifying the root causes of the conflict, which helps the child or adolescent gain insight into their feelings and perspectives. Additionally, therapists offer practical tools and coping strategies tailored to the individual's age and developmental stage. By fostering open communication and providing a non-judgmental environment, we empower young individuals to work through their conflicts, promoting healthy relationships and emotional well-being.

Parental Support

We believe supporting parents through the therapeutic process a key factor in successfully treating children and adolescents. Our providers will always allow time and space for parents to express their concerns and ask questions about their child’s health. Parents can expect to receive detailed education, resources, and tools and techniques related to challenges their child is facing so they can be best equipped to provide support at home.

Medication Management

Medication management is a crucial aspect of adolescent mental health treatment, but it's not a standalone solution. It works in conjunction with therapies, lifestyle changes, and a supportive environment. Through open communication, collaboration between parents, guardians, and healthcare professionals, and a personalized approach, adolescents can receive the comprehensive care they need to navigate their mental health journey. Remember, everyone is unique, and their treatment plan should reflect that uniqueness.

Meet Our Talented and Compassionate Providers

Jesse Weisel, LMHC, BC-DMT, NCC

Watching your child struggle can be heartbreaking and elicit feelings of helplessness. When this happens, we want to do everything in our power to take away their pain so the suffering can end. Finding a therapist who has experience with the ever-changing needs of children and adolescents can itself be a challenge. The daily demands our youth are facing can be confusing and overwhelming for parents.

I acknowledge that every situation is unique, as well as the environment that leads to unhealthy coping mechanisms. This is why I take a holistic approach to therapy. Nothing exists in a vacuum. Therefore, I have found it helpful to not only look at the outward reaction to events causing concern, but also at other factors that may be involved. This approach helps me tailor interactions to individual needs and focus on the areas of highest concern.

Watching your child struggle can be heartbreaking.  The behavior displayed by children and adolescents can be complicated and easily misunderstood. It is important as parents that we give ourselves permission to not always know the answer, but to seek trusted resources and support for ourselves and our family.

I recognize and support the idea that no one treatment is right for every child and believe in a holistic approach to mental health.  In my practice philosophy, medication will sometimes be necessary, but it is not the only option and sometimes not the best one.  I  support researched, evidence based natural remedies.  The best course of treatment will be determined by a collaborative effort including children, parents and provider.
